The Sphinx at the Giza Plateau

Between the paws of the Great Sphinx lies the Dream Stele. It was carved by Pharaoh Thutmose IV and says, in effect, that he was not supposed to be pharaoh. He records how a god came to him and told him to uncover the then-buried sphinx in order to become pharaoh.

Because of stele, some Egyptologists believe he murdered his older brother in order to become pharaoh. However if you compare the time line to the Bible, his older brother was very likely the son of the pharaoh who died in the Tenth Plague when the Angel of the Lord struck the firstborn of every Egyptian.
